I am looking to buy my first Friesian. Of course, I wanted the ultra long mane and forelock; however, the two best horses I'm looking at don't have manes very long. One is 5 and the other 6. My question is: If I take proper care of the mane, will it grow long, or is what they have now, what they'll have genetically?
